With a spin-off to networking
With the spin-off of thyssenkrupp Materials IoT GmbH, Materials Services offers customers a total solution for the networking of manufacturing and the digitization of their value chain.
Over 15 years of know-how
Materials Services is pooling its own expertise in the digitization of manufacturing processes (Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0) in thyssenkrupp Materials IoT GmbH, or tkMIoT for short. The aim is to support other companies on their way to digitizing production. In this way Materials Services passes on its own knowledge to its customers and enables them to share in the experience gained over 15 years in the optimization and automation of production processes.
Start-up meets tradition
On the way to Industry 4.0, tkMIoT accompanies its customers throughout the entire process: from consulting to the implementation of IIoT technologies to support throughout the lifecycle of the solutions and operation of the underlying platform. A well-coordinated team with a great deal of experience in industrial projects is available for this purpose. This is how start-up culture is combined with the tradition of a globally active group that can look back on more than 200 years of industrial experience.
Platform for digital transformation
A first central product is toii®. The self-developed IIoT platform creates the prerequisite for machines of different types and generations to be able to communicate with each other worldwide. The aim is to automate processes across the entire supply chain and make them more efficient.
Since 2017 Materials Services has successfully implemented toii® at more than 30 sites. One plant increased its annual production by almost 10,000 tons, while other sites reduced downtime by up to ten percent. "With toii® we have succeeded in bringing digital transformation to the core of our business: to the factory floors, to the machinery, to the warehouses," says Sebastian Lang. "We would now like to make this step possible for other companies as well."
